GRID Networks is looking for a highly skilled Staff Engineer to lead and support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our hybrid infrastructure across on-premise datacenters and cloud platforms. This is a hands-on technical leadership role that combines deep subject matter expertise with mentorship and strategic influence.

You’ll work closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure our infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain hybrid infrastructure solutions (on-prem and cloud).

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.

  • Define and enforce best practices in networking, systems administration, and automation.

  • Lead system architecture decisions and evaluate new technologies.

  • Author and present technical reports, documentation, and briefings for stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, including 3+ years in a senior or staff-level role.

  • Extensive experience across all phases of complex, integrated system development.

  • Proven ability to lead technical teams and contribute to high-impact architectural decisions.

  • Deep expertise in Cisco and Juniper networking (routing protocols, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, firewalls).

  • Strong background in infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

  • Demonstrated success mentoring junior and mid-level engineers.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) in hybrid environments.

  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, etc.).

  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Experience with OpenBSD.

  • Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP/JNCIE, RHCE, AWS Solutions Architect).

  • Experience communicating complex technical topics to senior leadership.
